Faith-based Therapy and Evaluation Services for Central Florida

Michael Trainor is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) by the State of Florida, and is also a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP).  Mr. Trainor earned his Master of Arts in Counseling at Assumption College.

"I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Addiction Professional with over 25 years experience counseling adolescents and adults with mental health and addiction issues.  I utilize traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other proven evidence-based practices, as well as mindfulness-based psychotherapy to assist clients in achieving personal growth.  My approach to therapy is solution-focused and taps into the individual's strengths to help promote change and thus enables the client to regain control over their life.  The therapy process occurs in an environment that is empowering, non-judgmental, encouraging, and supportive, yet challenging.  I treat each client with respect and concern, and ask that the client do the same for themselves.

I believe my training and experience have helped me become more able to help others and includes the following:  I earned a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Assumption College, and have leadership experience as a former First Lieutenant in an Infantry Unit in the Army National Guard. I obtained a second degree black belt in Okinawan Go-Ju Rye Karate and currently am a student of Tai Chi."
